Mercy Health – Oncology is proud to offer patients the full spectrum of state-of-the-art cancer care. From diagnostics and treatment to support and education, we’re with you every step of the way. Our board-certified physicians and experienced, compassionate caregivers work one-on-one with patients to develop treatment plans tailored to their specific needs. We also offer some of the area’s most leading-edge cancer technology.
In particular, as of March 2013, The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health will be the only hospital in Greater Cincinnati to offer the Leksell Gamma Knife®, a proven technology to treat cancerous and non-cancerous tumors and neurological disorders of the brain. This treatment requires no incision and provides pinpoint accuracy using radiation to target tumors in the brain while preserving healthy tissue. This investment ensures patients needing complex tumor and neurological disorder treatment will not need to travel outside of the area for care.
In addition, Mercy Health has the region’s first and most experienced blood and marrow transplant unit. Located at The Jewish Hospital, the unit treats about 100 patients per year and is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). FACT accredits bone marrow transplant programs that have demonstrated an exceptional level of quality patient care.
