The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health was founded in 1850, when a cholera epidemic sickened thousands of Cincinnatians. The Jewish community saw a need to provide care for poor Jews, and founded the first Jewish hospital in the United States. Since its early days, The Jewish Hospital has always welcomed and cared for people of every faith.
The Jewish Hospital’s legacy of teaching the next generation of physicians dates back more than 100 years, and today, residents in surgery, medicine, podiatry and pharmacy all train at The Jewish Hospital.
The Jewish Hospital is located in Kenwood, a Cincinnati suburb that provides convenient access from around the Tristate.
Our renowned services include the region’s only adult Blood & Marrow Transplant Center; a premier Joint Replacement Center performing nearly 1,000 total joint replacements every year; the region’s most experienced mobile mammography program; the Cholesterol & Metabolism Center; Weight Management Solutions and full-spectrum cardiovascular and emergency services.
We’re excited about our plans to build, renovate and expand over the next few years. Our renovations will contribute to our continuous drive to put our patients, their families and the healthcare team at the center of it all.
