About EAP

What is an EAP program?

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a company-sponsored program offering assessment, short-term intervention, referral and follow-up services for employees and household members who are seeking assistance in dealing with the stress caused by life changes or problems. It is voluntary, private, and available to all individuals wishing to seek help before a crisis or problem begins to affect their lives profoundly.

Following are some frequently asked questions about our EAP:

How does an EAP work?

Employees, or their household family members, may request an appointment simply by calling the EAP directly. Appointments will be scheduled at your convenience in one of our Greater Cincinnati-area offices, or with a clinician elsewhere in the U.S., close to where you live or work. You will meet with a professional EAP clinician in a relaxed, private atmosphere to discuss your concerns.

If you or your clinician decide that further assistance or more intensive treatment is necessary, your clinician will assist you with the appropriate referral.

Who provides the EAP services? Are they qualified?

All care is provided by licensed Masters or Doctoral-level staff with specialized training in behavioral health and EAP services. Each staff member is skilled in a wide variety of personal assessment and problem-solving techniques.

What is the cost of EAP services?

The EAP services are prepaid employer benefits and there is no cost to an employee or their household members. The EAP program is completely separate from any health insurance you may participate in through your company. If you are referred for additional services outside the EAP, you are responsible for those charges not covered by any existing insurance plan.

Is the EAP confidential?

If you choose to utilize the EAP benefit, no one at your workplace will know unless you tell them. All contacts with the EAP are held in a highly-confidential manner. All records and information are exclusive property of Life Management Systems. All federal and state laws that apply to licensed professionals apply to our staff. The fact that there is no invoice or insurance claim generated by contact with the EAP is a further protection of privacy.

How can I contact the EAP or just ask a question?
